Linda has been the Office Manager since 1990. She previously worked with Dr. Kenworthy from 1984 at another local veterinary facility and joined her when the Animal Health Care Center began.
Linda grew up in Elizabethtown, graduating from Elizabethtown High School and the Thompson Institute with a degree in Medical Assisting.
Linda is married to Perry, also an E-town native and they have three children, Matt, Leanne, and Michael, and two beautiful granddaughters named Layla and Emma.
Their family also includes a Golden Retriever, Chance, two French Bulldogs, Askher and Rumble, a Morgan horse, Navistar, and a Welsh Pony, Pache.
Spending time with her grand-babies is the top priority for Linda in her free time. Additionally, she enjoys riding and driving horses, sewing, and extensive flower gardening.
Linda considers the Animal Health Care Center her home away from home and the staff and clients her family. As all staff members agree, Linda feels the Animal Health Care Center is a wonderful hospital to be associated with, where caring for the pets and each other is the entire team's number one concern.
Dakota can usually be found lounging around the reception desk, the scale, or spreading his white hair on any chair in the building! He is our most outgoing resident cat and considers himself the official client greeter despite being blind. Dakota came to us with Carolina as an owner surrender in 2002, we guess that he was born around 1992.
Dakota is an large, eccentric kitty who enjoys sharing our lunches, hiding in cabinets, and waiting for us to open doors for him! He does amazingly well in the building despite his lack of sight.
Dakota has endeared himself to many of our clients and our entire staff. He makes friends with every creature he meets.
Carolina came to us with Dakota in 2002. She was born sometime in 2001.
Carolina is the least seen of our cats as she prefers to sleep most of the day. She is a talker and tells you with long, whiny meows and squinted eyes when she wants something!
She enjoys attention and brushing on her own terms, but otherwise spends her time with our other cats or sleeping in drawers.
Spuds was born in July of 2003. He came to us as a very sick kitten in September of the same year.
Spuds has a diaphragmatic hernia where his abdominal organs protrude through the diaphragm into the space normally reserved for the lungs and the heart. Due to this condition, Spuds is the perfect demonstration cat for abnormal breathing. Thankfully, he has exceeded his original life expectancy with this condition.
Spuds is often seen by clients through the exam room windows looking into the treatment area as he rarely ventures from the back rooms of the hospital. He is a "counter gargoyle" who likes to patrol and rid the counter of anything we sit on it (by means of knocking it from the counter with his paws). If ignored, Spuds will swat you as you walk by or lay in your way: on papers, in front of the computer, or on your lunch!
Spuds is a character who fusses at noisy animals by chirping at them - no matter what the species or size. He loves his drinking fountain and sinks with running water. He adores kittens and has raised quite a few strays that have come our way.
Spuds takes a while to warm up to new people and only likes two men that we are aware of! He is quite an entertaining character that we feel fortunate to have in our lives and hospital!
