Veterinarians
Dr. Kathy Poteet
VMD
Joined AHCC: 1998
Dr. Kathy Poteet grew up in Maryland and earned her undergraduate degree from Wilson College and a master of sciences degree from the University of Maryland, and then obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Poteet has worked in the area as a veterinarian since 1990 and became co-owner of AHCC in 2003. Dr. Poteet and Kay have two cats at home, both adopted from PAWs, Lucy and Tica. She enjoys traveling, photography, and gardening. She loves sharing photos of her traveling adventures and her photography is even found in our examination rooms. If Dr. Poteet could be anywhere else, she would have her camera in her hand traveling around the world looking for wildlife.
Dr. Audrey J Hoffmann
VMD, MBA
Joined AHCC: 2012
Dr. Hoffmann grew up on a farm in Lebanon County. She graduated with her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania and then also obtained a Master of Business Administration from Elizabethtown College. Dr. Hoffmann became co-owner of AHCC in 2016. Her veterinary interests include all things surgery, ultrasound, and echocardiograms. She shares her home with her husband Matt and their two dogs, Drago and Thanos. Dr. Hoffmann’s hobbies include baking, crafting, Olympic Weightlifting, traveling, and volunteering with World Vets. If she could be anywhere other than here, Dr. Hoffmann would be in Fiji!
Dr. Katy Bilder
DVM

Dr. Bilder grew up on a farm in Harrisburg PA. She obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State (go Cyclones!). Her veterinary interests include surgery and being a general practitioner so she can “dabble” in all aspects of medicine. At home, she shares her home with her husband and three children – her daughter in vet school at Ohio State, her son in college hoping to also pursue veterinary medicine, and her son in high school. They also have four dogs: Gordy, a mastiff mix, Doug, a pug mix, Xango, a black lab who is a retired breeder from The Seeing Eye, and Josie, a half-blind completely deaf double merle Great Dane puppy. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, hiking, boating, pickleball, watching baseball, and traveling. When asked what else she would have been had she not been a vet, Dr. Bilder stated that she had no plan B, being a vet is and always was her number one goal! #NORAGRETS
Dr. Shelly McIntire
VMD

Dr. McIntire grew up in Milwaukee WI. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Clarion University and then her veterinary degree from The University of Pennsylvania. Dr. McIntire worked at another veterinary hospital in Harrisburg prior to joining our team. She enjoys working with people and their pets. Dr. McIntire lives with her husband, Steve and has four children. She also enjoys spending time with her sweet granddaughter. Her hobbies include hiking, camping, swimming, gardening, playing games, reading and watching the Pittsburgh Penguins. If Dr. McIntire could be anywhere other than here, she would be at the beach with her family!
Dr. Stephanie Milliken

Dr. Milliken grew up in Lancaster and was a small animal relief veterinarian before joining our team full-time. She obtained her undergraduate degree at Penn State and then graduated with her VMD degree from University of Pennsylvania. Her veterinary-related interests include proteinuria and kidney disease. Dr. Milliken shares her home with her husband (who is also a vet) and their two daughters. They also have a three-legged Bernese Mountain dog, a cavapoo, and two cats. Dr. Milliken’s hobbies include Penn State football and tennis. If Dr. Milliken could be anywhere in the world other than here, she would be at Disney!
Dr. Kayla Brouse

Dr. Brouse grew up in Frederick, Maryland. She did her undergraduate studies at Bucknell University and then received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Midwestern University in Arizona. Dr. Brouse really enjoys soft tissue surgery, wellness/preventative care, and supporting families through hospice/end-of-life care. Dr. Brouse is the oldest of four siblings and has a very close-knit family. She has three cats, Cheeto, Tucker, and Pascal. Her hobbies include watching various TV shows and movies and she enjoys spending time with her husband and visiting family. If Dr. Brouse could be anywhere in the world besides here, she would be in Ocean City, NJ!

Stephanie grew up in Shellsville, PA, and worked at AHCC while obtaining her Certified Veterinary Technician degree from Wilson College. Her veterinary interests include placing IV catheters and emergency work and her management-related interests include helping to build a team that gets along well and wants to help pets/clients. Stephanie can be found helping out in various roles throughout the hospital as she is cross-trained in many positions. Stephanie’s family includes her husband Rick, a daughter, two stepsons, and a grandson. She cares for a variety of animals at home: Boone, Solee, and Nash (all labradors), three goats, a donkey, and a potbelly pig. Stephanie’s hobbies include reading, going to their cabin, and snowmobiling. When asked if she could be anywhere but here, Stephanie said she would be at their cabin in Clinton County!

Tina grew up in Harrisburg PA and has worked as a vet tech as well as a Bonsai nursery attendant. Tina recently retired from full-time work with us but still works part-time as she just loves us that much. Her veterinary-related interests include spay and neuter clinics to help decrease pet overpopulation. Tina has a very small and close family at home that means the world to her. She also has two crazy cats and two of the cutest dogs ever. Her hobbies at home include Bonsai, landscaping, hiking, and tennis. If Tina could be anywhere in the world other than here, she would be on a beach in Hawaii with her family!

Shannon grew up in the Elizabethtown/Hershey area and obtained her Certified Veterinary Technician degree from Medaille College. She worked at the Hotel Hershey and other veterinary clinics before joining our team. Shannon’s veterinary interests include microscopic cytology examination and phlebotomy. Together with her husband Jerry, Shannon cares for four Labrador Retrievers, Franny, Fred, Ted, and Tilly, and a cat, Jack. Shannon’s hobbies include dog training and dabbling in breeding Labrador Retrievers. If Shannon were to be able to choose her superpower, it would be to be able to trim dog and cat nails just by looking at them!

Amber grew up in Lancaster PA and obtained her Certified Veterinary Technician degree from the Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to working with us, Amber worked at another small animal practice in Reading. Amber spends most of her time at our practice working as our surgery technician but she is also cross-trained and can be found in a client service position too. Amber and her husband Sean have two children, Sarah and Xander. They share their home with two golden retrievers, Ziva and Zeke, a border collie Zade, three cats named Roo, Mickey, and Goose, an assortment of freshwater fish, and 22 overly friendly chickens. Amber’s veterinary interests include a great love for dental procedures, ultrasound, placing IV catheters, and hospitalized patient care. If Amber were not so good at her job, she would probably have her own crafting business!

Blake grew up in Manheim PA and was a hostess/waitress for 3 years prior to obtaining her Certified Veterinary Technician degree from York Technical Institute. Blake joined our team as a client service representative, and then after graduating with her CVT, she moved into the technician role. Blake is cross-trained so you will find her anywhere in appointments, in surgery, or in a client service position. Her veterinary interests include obtaining and analyzing blood work and microscopic examination of cytology samples. At home, Blake cares for her Doberman mix named Walker. She enjoys playing disc golf, hiking, photography, and going to the gym. If Blake could choose her superpower, it would be teleportation!

Autumn grew up in Palmyra PA. She received her Certified Veterinary Technician degree from York Technical Institute. Autumn worked at the Harrisburg Humane Society for three years as a vet tech prior to joining our team. Her veterinary-related interests include surgery and microscopic cytology evaluation. Autumn’s human family is very close and they have monthly game nights. She has two pets she calls her own: Chubs, a cat adopted from the HS, and Pebbles, a Pittie also adopted from the HS. At home, Autumn enjoys hanging out with friends/family, reading, and baking. If Autumn weren’t so good at her job, she’d probably be a baker!

Jennie grew up in Manheim, PA, and was a pizza shop cook and food delivery driver prior to joining our team. Jennie currently is our pharmacy technician which means she handles our entire pharmacy and inventory ordering and many times is the one you hear from when calling with questions about medications. Jennie is also our Facebook coordinator. Her veterinary related interests include pharmacy, continuing education, and working with small pets like rabbits/ferrets/etc. Jennie’s family includes her husband Howard, and two daughters, Emma and Keira. They share their home with three dogs: Tommy the Labrenese, Hannah the Australian Cattle Dog/Chihuahua mix, and Sally the Rat Terrier; and 5 chickens. Her hobbies include watching TV/movies, gardening, and attending Philadelphia Eagles games.

Amy grew up in Elizabethtown PA and worked as a fork-lift operator prior to joining our team. Amy’s veterinary related interests include dog behavior and helping to solve behavior problems that pets are having at home. She frequently attends continuing education on all things behavior. Amy is married with three children…one of which works here alongside her! She also shares her home with four dogs, which are trained/training as Search and Rescue Dogs with Middle Creek Search and Rescue. Her hobbies include helping with the Search and Rescue team, reading, and relaxing at their cabin. If Amy weren’t so good at her job, she would probably be a dog adventure guide!

Sue grew up in Mechanicsburg PA and was a receptionist/technician at another veterinary clinic prior to joining our team. Her veterinary-related interests include microscopic examinations of cytology samples and skin scrapes as well as other lab work. At home, Sue lives with her partner (Robert) and they care for a dog named Jackie Daytona and a cat, Bjorn. Her hobbies include photography and baking. If Sue weren’t so good at her job, she would probably be a travel agent!

Tash grew up in Lebanon, PA. Before joining our team, she worked at Myerstown Animal Hospital for 14 years. She shares her home with her husband, Will, daughter, Aysa, and two dogs, Hershey and Cocoa. Tash loves her job here because she simply enjoys talking to people. In her free time at home, she enjoys making jewelry. If she could be anywhere other than here, she would be anywhere with her family.

Alissa grew up in Annville, PA. Before joining our team, she worked as a secretary and veterinary assistant. Currently, she is enrolled with Penn Foster to become a certified veterinary technician (CVT). Alissa shares her home with a delightful array of animals: a rough collie named Ginger, a blue heeler mix named Zoe, chickens, fish, an axolotl, hamsters, guinea pigs, cats, and a rabbit. At work, her favorite activity is obtaining radiograph images of pets. In her free time, Alissa enjoys reading, playing the piano, and caring for her many creatures. If she were a superhero, her superpower would be flying.

Amber grew up in Queens, NY before moving here in 2001. She obtained her AVA through Dauphin County Technical School. Amber’s veterinary interests include venipuncture and lab analysis of samples. At home, Amber cares for her golden retriever, Atlas, and her two Devon Rex cats, Minnie and Penelope. She enjoys going to the gym, hiking, and art. If Amber could be anywhere other than here, she would probably be out west at one of our country’s National Parks!

Tina F. grew up in Hershey, PA. Before joining our team, she owned a successful hair salon. Tina shares her home with a diverse and lovable menagerie: Russell, a Dogue de Bordeaux; Squeaky, a cat; guinea pigs, Carl and Bob; mini silky goats, Brennan and Carol; and a hognose snake named Todd. At work, Tina’s favorite activity is comforting and helping pets recover after surgical procedures. Her hobbies include dog training and behavior, researching holistic nutrition and modalities for pets and people, and cooking and baking for her pets. If she wasn’t so good at her job, Tina would likely be running a dog bakery and boutique!

Michelle grew up in Newmanstown, PA. Before joining AHCC, she did woodworking. At home, Michelle is kept busy with her four crazy cats and one dog. Her veterinary-related interests include filling medications and watching surgeries. Outside of work, Michelle is pursuing a degree as a veterinarian and she enjoys reading and studying for her college classes. If she weren’t so good at her job, Michelle would probably be a chemist.

Katie grew up in Duncansville PA and was an administrative assistant at AAA prior to joining our team. Her favorite part of her job is helping to make pets feel comfortable while waiting to be seen and talking to our clients. Katie shares her home with two miniature pinscher mixes, Pickles and Tulley. Her hobbies include going to concerts, being with friends, and watching the Steelers. If Katie were able to choose her superpower, it would be to be able to rescue all the dogs that need homes!

Kirsten grew up in Palmyra, PA. Before joining our team, she gained diverse experience working as a server at the Sinkhole Saloon, a receptionist at a dentist’s office, and in banking for a few years. At home, she shares her life with an Australian Shepherd named Felix. As assistant office manager, she enjoys managing banking and deposits and helping with scheduling and payroll. As a customer service representative, her favorite things are seeing the animals who come through our doors, helping clients by answering their questions, assisting her co-workers, and training new employees. In her free time, Kirsten enjoys reading, walking Felix, spending time with her two nephews and three nieces, and kayaking in the summer. If she weren’t so good at her job, she’d probably own a dog boarding facility.

Mateja was born in Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina, but grew up in Harrisburg. Before joining our team, she worked at Red Lobster. Mateja shares her home with her mom Magdalena, Dad Perica, and brother Matej. She has a 10-year-old German Shepherd named Ace. At work, she loves learning about different prescription foods and medications and assisting with ultrasounds and appointments. Outside of work, Mateja enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching sports with her family (especially soccer), and participating in Kolo Club, a Croatian dance group. If she could be anywhere else right now, she would be in Europe!

Katie grew up in Hershey, PA, and did some landscaping and cosmetology prior to joining our team. Her favorite thing to do at work is petting all the pets that come through our doors. She shares her home with her daughter (Brinnley), fiancé (Caleb), dog (Kaiser), and cat (Ethel). Katie’s hobbies include spending time with Brinnley – so much so that when asked if she could be anywhere but here, where would she be? And her answer was that she would be at home with her daughter!

Cassandra grew up in Harrisburg. Before joining AHCC, she gained experience working at another veterinary hospital and spent 15 years as a hairstylist. At home, Cassandra shares her life with her teenage son Zayden, a beagle named Carlton, and a cat named Rice Cake. Her favorite part of the job is seeing all the puppies and kittens, but as someone newer to the field, she finds just about everything interesting and loves learning new things. In her free time, Cassandra enjoys reading, traveling, and trying new foods. If she could be anywhere else right now, she’d be on the beach with a margarita in hand.

Margaret grew up in Elizabethtown, PA. Before joining our team, she worked as a food service accountant. At home, Margaret is surrounded by her beloved pets: Hazelnut and Winnie the Pooh, both standard poodles, and Avery, her energetic mini golden doodle. At work, she loves meeting and helping clients and pets with whatever they need. In her free time, Margaret enjoys sewing, organizing, crafting, building, and engaging in various creative projects. She also makes dog collars, bandanas, leashes, and accessories. If she could be anywhere else right now, she would likely be at home creating something.
